You’re not lost. You’re wondering.

And wondering is the right place to be.

Discover a process of intuitive painting that bypasses your inner critic, reconnects you to your creative pulse and opens doors that thinking alone can’t reach.

Paint by Wonder

This is not an art class. There is no instruction, no technique, no critique, no right answer.

Paint by Wonder is a guided Intuition Painting® experience, a process that bypasses the thinking mind and speaks directly to the part of you that already knows what you need. It’s often a part of ourselves that we put on hold, set aside thinking we had too much to do to spend time with something that we weren’t going to make a living doing. That part of us that brings the magic to life, that offers us a window into our souls and puts our feet on the real path.

We follow that impulse with color, with curiosity and yes, with wonder.

What people find on the other side isn't a painting, it's reconnecting to their inner creativity. It’s like a part that had gone dormant is waking back up and in many ways, it feels like coming home.

Our creative pulse never left. It just went quiet. And when it goes quiet long enough, something essential in us goes quiet with it, too. We need that essential thing to help us keep moving forward being true to our real selves. Not the selves we were told we should be, the ones we know to be the most true.

We are all artists.

Contrary to everything we have been told, we are all artists. Maybe not by the credentials that judge what belongs in galleries, not by the assessment of who has the most talent, or who can handle perspective and color and line the best. And surely not by the approval of the art world. But being an artist is our birthright. It is a part of what makes us human and what is responsible for all the beauty that humanity has brought to this world.

The joy of creating belongs to each of us. It always has. And that means you too. Long before anyone told you otherwise, you knew this. You were five years old with a fistful of crayons and you made things with complete unselfconscious joy. It wasn’t for others, it wasn’t to be good or seen, it was just because the “making” itself felt like living and helped you discover who you are and what you dream.

I think this world needs so much more than our rational, corporate, “get it done” culture offers us. We need the creative spark to be alive again, to be shaping the world we want to see in our futures.

That's why I'm here. And that's why I built this.

Abstract painting with vibrant colors including yellow, orange, blue, black, white, pink, and green, creating a chaotic, energetic scene resembling an explosion or burst of light.

I''m Robin Cape. training as an Intuition Painting® facilitator and the founder of Wondering Path Studio in Asheville, NC. I created Paint by Wonder because this process brought me back to myself when I had lost the thread completely — and because I believe this work is essential to everyone who has ever felt the spark go quiet and wondered how to get it back.

“Robin's presence was very conducive to creating a comfortable and safe environment for me to explore my inner world in a new way. Her passion for the power of this work is infectious, and stirred my own desire to let go, and let it flow!”

What it actually does

People who have experienced this process often describe something they didn't expect — not drama, but a quiet shift. A sense of having accessed something real that they hadn't been able to reach another way.

Participants have reported:

  • Reconnecting with creative instincts and joy buried under decades of responsibility

  • A profound sense of being known — by yourself

  • Finding more courage and resilience for what comes next

  • Moving through grief, loss, and emotional stagnation that had been stuck for years

  • Finding clarity and direction where there was confusion

This isn't therapy — though it is surely therapeutic. It's an intentional gathering inviting an aspect of ourselves so rarely welcomed to the table. And it is, in my experience, one of the most quietly powerful things a person can do to find solid ground in these trying times.

A person with blonde hair styled in a messy bun, wearing a pink sweatshirt, stands next to a large, colorful painting of a bird, possibly a hawk or eagle, with intricate black, pink, blue, and white details. The painting features flowers at the bottom, with the bird portrayed with a fierce expression, set against a partially white and partially beige background. The person appears to be in an art studio or classroom, working on or observing the painting.

Who is this for?

People in life transition

When the ground shifts beneath you, it can be hard to know who you are outside the role you just left. Intuition painting creates space to meet yourself again without the old labels. The painting doesn’t care what you used to do. It only cares what’s true right now.

Those feeling blocked or stuck

Stuck isn’t a character flaw. It’s a signal that something wants to move and hasn’t found a way through yet. Intuition painting bypasses the thinking mind and gives that stuck energy a place to go. Paint it out. Let the brush carry what words can’t.

Seekers and self-discoverers

If you’ve always sensed there’s more to know about yourself than therapy, books, or meditation have fully reached, you’re right. The images that emerge aren’t random. They’re yours. And they know things your conscious mind is still catching up to.

Artists wanting to go deeper

If technique has started to feel like a cage, this is an invitation to put down the plan and follow instead. Intuition painting isn’t about making better art. It’s about making truer art.

Anyone longing to feel more alive

That feeling of going through the motions. Of watching your life from a slight distance. Intuition painting doesn’t just describe aliveness, it produces it. The artbeat that went quiet begins to pulse again.

Coaches, therapists, and healers

You know that words have limits, that some things live below language and need a different container. Intuition painting offers a complementary modality that can take your clients somewhere talking alone cannot go.

People who used to make things

You used to draw, paint, play an instrument, write. And somewhere along the way you stopped. The artbeat doesn’t die when we stop making. It waits. This is an invitation to come back.

Anyone ready to stop performing

A process with no product to judge, no outcome to evaluate, no performance to maintain. You paint without knowing what you’re making. And in that freedom, something genuine surfaces that the performing self never could have manufactured.

A paint palette covered in colorful oil paints, with a paintbrush resting on top, on a painter's workspace with mixed colors and brushes.

You only need a willingness to show up, stay curious and trust the process.

The workshop is

  • Structured enough to support you

  • Free enough to surprise you

  • Safe enough to hold anything that arises

We need this! More than ever.

We live in a time that disconnects us from ourselves at every turn. Social media, non-stop news, worry about the world. Paint by Wonder offers a way back to that quiet creative part of ourself that grounds us and helps us be more resilient and engaged with the life we are living.

This process opens doors that traditional talk therapy, goal-oriented art-making, and self-development techniques often can't reach. The transformations it offers are sometimes quiet, sometimes seismic. Something moves. And you see something new.

When you follow your inner brush, and let the paint speak to you, you unlock the wisdom that you can’t access with your mind alone. You engage with the wisdom of your own path, the wondering path of your soul.
